ADVERTISE HERE

MIRI (Jan 24): Pujut constituents have been urged to remain vigilant against misinformation circulating on social media, particularly from cyberbullies, and to verify facts carefully, said Pujut assemblyman Adam Yii.
He said that with the state election expected this year, cyberbullies could exploit the situation to spread false information that undermines racial harmony and community well-being.
“Cyberbullies and parties with their own agendas will seize this opportunity to disseminate inaccurate information, tarnish the government, launch personal attacks, and raise racial issues through social media.
“I advise voters in Pujut not to be easily influenced or deceived by these agendas,” he said during a Minor Rural Project (MRP) handing-over ceremony at the SUPP Pujut branch office.
Yii added that such irresponsible actions could jeopardise unity and harmony among residents of different races and religions.
He also encouraged residents to independently assess the contributions he and his party have made in Pujut, including development initiatives, repair projects, and other community efforts.
Over the past year, a total of 148 non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and associations in the constituency benefited from his MRP allocations.
In addition, 15 school-based associations, including parent-teacher associations (PTAs), and 17 religious organisations also received assistance.
For grants supporting activities and events, 21 recipients were for religious activities, 41 for education-related initiatives, and 139 for community projects, bringing the total number of allocation recipients to 381.
At the ceremony, Yii handed RM70,000 in MRP allocations to 22 organisations and associations.
Also present was SUPP Youth Central vice-chairman Kelvin Hii.
