KUCHING (March 29): The Kuching Divine Dharma Meditation (DMM) has officially launched its new premises at Green Road here, offering a serene space for individuals to support mental wellbeing.
Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How, who officiated at the ceremony, said meditation could play a role in the healing process, contributing to physical and mental well-being as well as promoting positivity within the community.
He said simple meditation could help people regulate their mind and body, enabling self-improvement and the ability to help others.
“When helping others, we are actually doing good deeds. This should play a part in changing one’s own destiny, which is a very positive approach,” he said at the launch on Saturday.
Describing the Kuching DMM as ‘non-political, non-religious and non-profit’, See said it served as a charitable platform for personal growth and social well-being.
He also thanked the organisers for inviting him, saying it was an opportunity to exchange views on meditation, which he is still in the learning stage.
He added that those present could also gain a better understanding of relevant spiritual practices.
The Kuching DMM Centre was established in 2019 and has since overcome various challenges during the pandemic.
The new premises marks a new beginning for the centre, providing an avenue for the local community to learn meditation and cultivate inner peace, balance and clarity in daily life.
