KUCHING (April 4): The STILL – Global Revival Music Festival World Tour Evangelistic Rally is set to make its overseas debut in Kuching this weekend, bringing together dozens of artistes in a large-scale faith-based music event.

The programme, presented by Taiwan-based Arise and Shine Artists Association (ASAA), will be held at Sarawak Blessed Church (SBC), with sessions scheduled on Apr 4 at 7.30pm and Apr 5 at 9am.

Admission to the musical event is free.

The rally was introduced during a media luncheon held at the church on Friday, where organisers highlighted the significance of Kuching as the first international stop of the tour.

Programme director Hung Jung-Liang said the theme ‘STILL’ carries a deeply personal and spiritual message, inspired by a song composed during a time of hardship.

“The song ‘I Am Here’ was written in the midst of suffering, and it reflects God’s response to us during difficult times.

“For us, ‘Still, I Am Here’ is our response to God — that despite challenges, we continue to stand and serve.

“Through music, dance and our talents, we want to give our best and share this message,” said Hung.

He added that the Kuching performance will feature unique segments not seen in other tour locations, including a special act by Taiwanese diabolo champion Ji Yong-Xun.

“He will perform a high-difficulty routine symbolising the beauty of creation, reaching heights of up to 18 metres ― something rare and spectacular,” said Hung.

Another highlight will be a segment titled ‘Jehovah Will Protect You’, combining worship music with traditional Chinese instruments and a collaborative performance involving local church teams.

Meanwhile, ASAA founder and pastor Song Yi-min said the event was the result of more than a decade of prayer and preparation.

“We have waited and prayed for over 10 years.

“What we are doing now is to share this love with the world and dedicate it to Jesus.

“This is our first overseas stop. We have brought close to 50 artistes and more than 80 people, including crew and media from Taiwan,” explained Song.

He described the event as a large-scale effort to combine music, worship and popular culture to reach wider audiences.

“We hope through music and performances, people can experience love — to know it, understand it and live it,” added Song.

Sarawak Blessed Church pastor Lim Gee Tiong expressed appreciation for hosting the event, describing it as a meaningful and rare opportunity.

“It is an honour for us to receive such a large group of artistes.

“What makes this even more meaningful is that they are not here for profit, but are willing to give and even bear the cost themselves,” he said.

The Kuching stop is part of a wider global tour, with organisers describing it as a world-class production aimed at delivering both artistic excellence and a message of hope.
