ADVERTISE HERE
KUCHING, 17 Oct: A total of 18 members of the Department of Wildlife and National Parks Protection (PERHILITAN) participated in a crocodile management, survey and rescue exercise organised by Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) here, from 11 to 16 October.
The SFC in a statement said that the Cows Conflict Management training 2026 also involved two escort officers as well as seven coaches and facilitators from the agency.
The training focuses on the sharing of knowledge, technical skills and field experience in crocodile management as well as conflict management between humans and related reptiles.
The programme is also aimed at improving the skills and readiness of PERHILITAN members in dealing with crocodile-related incidents, as well as strengthening cooperation between the two agencies in wildlife conflict management.
The closing ceremony of the training was held at Wisma Lestari SFC to recognise the commitment of all participants, coaches and facilitators.
SFC hopes that the cooperation can be continued to improve the effectiveness of wildlife management and ensure public safety, especially in areas at risk of conflict with crocodiles.
