KUCHING, Apr 4: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) has launched its Sia Sitok Sarawak 2026 campaign at the MATTA Fair Kuala Lumpur, offering travellers up to 40 per cent off holiday packages across the state. The promotion is available at the Sarawak Pavilion (Booth 1R01) for a limited period.

The initiative is aimed at encouraging domestic tourism, with travel dates for the discounted packages valid until 15 December 2026. The offers cover a range of destinations, including Kuching’s cultural heritage areas, Sibu’s longhouses and river journeys, and Miri’s national parks and highland regions.

STB Chairman Dato Dennis Ngau noted the importance of domestic travellers in supporting tourism growth in the State.

“The campaign allows visitors to plan flexible trips while exploring Sarawak’s landscapes and cultural experiences,” he said in a statement.

The campaign includes more than 80 packages developed with 17 licensed tour operators. Each package typically spans three days and two nights, combining accommodation with guided tours and curated itineraries.

At the MATTA Fair, visitors to the Sarawak Pavilion can also engage in cultural activities such as traditional music performances with the sape and nose flute, handicraft demonstrations, batik and keringkam embroidery workshops, quizzes, and souvenir giveaways.

The campaign coincides with Sarawak’s 2026 events calendar, which features more than 110 cultural, lifestyle, and sporting events.

A notable event is the Rainforest World Music Festival from 26 to 28 June at the Sarawak Cultural Village, with performances from regional and international artists alongside workshops and cultural activities.
