Kapitan Li Siew Ching reportedly said the assistance is part of a special project spearheaded by Tiong, who is also the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, to support those in need, particularly in rural areas.

“The contribution is hoped to provide some relief to the families involved amid the current cost-of-living challenges. Close cooperation between the villagers and elected representatives is crucial to ensure aid is delivered effectively and sustainably,” he said in a statement.

The handover ceremony was officiated by Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong branch chairman Teo Boon Siew and attended by Penghulu Teo Boon Chuen and other local community leaders. — DayakDaily
