KUCHING (Feb 6): Angkatan Zaman Mansang (Azam) Sarawak has explored potential collaborations with the Tupong Youth Movement to strengthen youth engagement through inclusive communication, leadership and capacity-building approaches.

The discussions took place when Azam Sarawak chief executive officer Ali Suhaili led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Tupong assemblyman Datuk Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman at his service centre on Feb 4.

During the meeting, Azam Sarawak highlighted its role as a civil society organisation focused on youth empowerment through leadership development, communication excellence, and community-based programmes.

“Azam also emphasises cultivating youth as ethical, factual, and impactful influencers and content creators, capable of conveying information, aspirations, and development agendas to the community in a way that resonates with younger audiences,” the organisation said in a statement.

Ali stressed the importance of collaborations at the community level to ensure youth initiatives remain relevant and beneficial.

“We see youth as strategic partners and agents of change. Through communication and leadership development, we strive to nurture confident and responsible youth who deliver positive messages and beneficial information to the community,” he said.

Among the initiatives discussed was the Kuching Youth Day Out (KYDO) Programme organised by Azam Young Souls (AYS), which provides a platform for youth across Sarawak to connect, interact, and engage in activities centred on communication, leadership, and community involvement.

Both Azam Sarawak and Fazzrudin expressed commitment to continue discussions to identify collaboration opportunities, aiming to strengthen the youth development ecosystem and increase youth participation at the community level.

Azam Sarawak reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with strategic partners across sectors to empower youth, strengthen public communication, and build a confident, competitive generation ready to face future challenges.
