Cagers vie to represent Serian at State U17 Championships

SERIAN (Jan 21): The 2026 Serian Division Under-17 Basketball Championships ended at the covered basketball court in Kampung Beratok here last weekend.

The two-day tournament was aimed at selecting players to represent Serian Division at the 12th State Inter-Division Under-17 Championships to be held in March.

A total of 12 teams took part in the tournament. They comprised local affiliated clubs such as Beratok Basketball Club, Tapah Basketball Club and Serian Basketball Club, as well as invited teams such as Fairyland, U Star, Samarahan, Tapah Sports Association and Hee Hee Seafood.

Hee Hee Seafood emerged as boy’s champions followed by U Star A, U Star B and Samarahan A. Topping the girls was Tapah Sports Association followed by Fairyland B and Fairyland A.

Meanwhile, organising committee chairman Thian Ching Ling thanked Puncak Borneo MP Datuk Willie Mongin who officiated the closing ceremony.

Serian District Office representative George Harison Rojes and Kapitan Lee Syian Yih were among those who gave away the prizes.
