Elderly woman rescued from rising floodwaters in Mukah

MUKAH (Jan 4): Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) personnel from the Mukah Fire and Rescue Station assisted in relocating an elderly woman to safety during ealy morning flooding on Sunday.

The operation took place at 12:17am in the Kuala Lama Resettlement Scheme area, following ongoing monitoring of regions affected by rising water levels.

According to Bomba, the team helped move the woman from her home on Jalan Melor, Skim Penempatan Semula Kuala Lama, to a relative’s house in Taman Episo, Mukah.

The department also reminded residents, especially those in low-lying and flood-prone areas, to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities if evacuation becomes necessary.
