BINTULU (Feb 1): The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) is organising a free anti-rabies vaccination programme at Dewan Saberkas in Tatau town on Feb 7 from 9am to 4pm.

The programme, held in collaboration with the Sarawak Veterinary Services Department, will include licensing registration for pet dogs.

According to BDA, several conditions must be met before bringing dogs to the programme.

“Dogs must be at least three months old, not pregnant or nursing, and owners are required to bring their MyKad for registration and licensing purposes.

“In addition, dogs must be kept under control at all times using a leash,” it said in a statement.

BDA said the initiative aims to encourage responsible pet ownership and to prevent the spread of rabies in the community.

Dog owners are urged to take advantage of the free service and play their part in safeguarding public health.

“All dog owners in the Bintulu area are encouraged to attend the programme as part of a collective effort to keep Sarawak rabies-free,” it added.
