KUCHING, Apr 13: Kapit MP Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi has announced a total allocation of RM101,500 to support community programmes and sacrificial offerings during an Aidilfitri gathering with the Malay community in his parliamentary constituency.
In a Facebook post, he said the allocation comprised RM76,500 for community programmes and activities, and RM25,000 for the purchase of sacrificial cattle.
The event, held at Dewan Masyarakat Melayu Kampung Muhibbah on Sunday (Apr 12), drew about 1,500 attendees including residents and individuals working in the Kapit area.
It featured a range of activities, including educational contributions, appreciation for senior citizens, and other community-focused programmes.
During the event, Nanta who is also Works Minister, witnessed the handover of premium land lots to residents of Kampung Bestari as part of efforts to ease their burden while providing long-term benefits to recipients.
At the same time, he called on everyone to continue strengthening unity and to support the country’s leadership in facing current economic challenges influenced by global developments.
“In today’s uncertain global situation, it is important for us to remain united, focus on the development of the State and community, and avoid matters that could undermine harmony,” he said. — DayakDaily
