BEKENU (Jan 8): Incessant rain triggered a landslide along the main road to Kampung Terahad here this morning, with a fallen tree damaging overhead power lines.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident, involving a 40-foot-high slope, was reported at 9.59am.
“A team from Batu Niah fire station led by operations commander Mohd Khaider was rushed to the location to assess the situation.
“They also coordinated with the relevant agencies to clear debris and secure the damaged power lines,” it said in a statement.
Bomba said the incident did not result in any injuries to the residents.
