KUCHING, June 15: Mu’azamir Jili has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of the Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) and director of the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSNS) effective today.

In a report from the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas), the handover of duties was conducted by Khairul Nizam Morshidi—SSC acting CEO and MSNS acting director—who formally passed the responsibilities to Mu’azamir today in a ceremony.

The leadership change is seen as an important step in ensuring the continuity of policies and the implementation of the State’s sports development agenda in a more structured and impactful manner.

With his extensive experience in the sports sector, Mu’azamir’s appointment is expected to bring a new dimension to strengthening Sarawak’s sports ecosystem, in line with the State’s aspiration to produce more high-performing athletes at the national and international levels.

Meanwhile, the SSC and MSNS community also expressed appreciation for Khairul’s commitment and leadership during his tenure as acting head, particularly in ensuring the smooth implementation of operations and athlete development programmes in the State.

Mu’azamir previously served as the director of National Department of Youth and Sports (JBSN) of Pahang, as well as in the potential development division. — DayakDaily
