SIBU, May 27: A single-vehicle accident involving a Toyota Harrier ended without any casualties after the vehicle skidded off the road and plunged into a drain near the junction of Jalan Apollo Timur here early this morning.

Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sungai Merah received an emergency call at 3.26am and deployed personnel to the scene, located approximately six kilometres away.

According to the incident report, the SUV had reportedly veered off the road on its own before coming to a stop in the drain.

Upon inspection, firefighters confirmed that no occupants were found inside the vehicle and no victims were located in the vicinity.

The operation commander confirmed that there were no individuals trapped in the vehicle. The situation was subsequently communicated to a patrol unit from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), which was also present at the scene.

After ensuring the area was safe and no further assistance was required, the operation was concluded at 3.50am. — DayakDaily
