Ops Tapis Khas nets 28 suspects in Padawan

KUCHING (Jan 8): A total of 28 individuals, comprising 25 men and three women aged between 19 and 50, were arrested during Ops Tapis Khas conducted around the Padawan district police headquarters (IPD) area from January 4 to 6.

The arrests were made in connection with various drug-related offences, and all suspects are currently being investigated under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

According to a statement posted on the official IPD Padawan Facebook page, the operation is part of the police’s ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crime in the district.

“Ops Tapis Khas is carried out continuously to detect, arrest and take action against individuals involved in drug abuse and trafficking,” it said.

The police added that they would not compromise on any drug-related activities and will continue to intensify enforcement operations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the local community.
