KUCHING, May 27: The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Sarawak Convention is scheduled to kick off at the Central Zone on July 25, marking the start of a series of zonal gatherings that will bring together party leaders and members from across Sarawak.

In a post shared on his social media, PBB Sarawak secretary-general Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the convention will be conducted in stages across four zones, following a preparatory meeting held at the PBB Sarawak Headquarters in Jalan Bako on Tuesday (May 26).

The meeting was chaired by PBB deputy president and Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, and focused on coordinating preparations, including the distribution of work, venue arrangements, and ensuring smooth organisation at all zonal levels.

According to the tentative schedule, the Central Zone convention will be held on July 25, followed by the Betong Zone on Aug 1, the Northern Zone on Aug 29, and the Southern Zone on Sept 12.

Nanta said the zonal approach is aimed at ensuring structured and early preparations, allowing each division sufficient time to mobilise delegates and streamline logistical arrangements ahead of the main convention.

He added that the phased organisation would also help strengthen coordination among the party machinery across Sarawak, ensuring broader and more effective participation from grassroots members.

“As secretary-general of PBB Sarawak, I am confident that the spirit of unity, organisational discipline and commitment among members will continue to be the party’s core strength in advancing its struggle for the people and the state,” he said.— DayakDaily
