MIRI (Jan 4): The weekly mobile service counter run by the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Piasau branch focuses on helping the public with applications and enquiries for various state and federal government aid programmes.

According to the branch’s publicity secretary, Councillor Tan Lek Jin, state-level assistance programme includes the Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC), S Pay Global Sarawak financial services, Sarawak ID digital identification, and support for tertiary students.

“We have also noticed many people approaching us with enquiries about federal aid, such as the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR),” Tan said.

“We understand the public’s concern and frustration over delays involving their MyKasih accounts.

“However, we can only advise them to remain patient while awaiting an official announcement from the Ministry of Finance regarding the disbursement of the 2026 STR monthly assistance,” he said.

He made these comments during the mobile service programme at a coffee shop at Centre Point 2, Jalan Kubu here, on Sunday morning.

Tan added that the counter also received complaints about local government services, which would then be referred to relevant departments for action.
