Ranau folks invited to Christmas-New Year open house this Sunday

KOTA KINABALU (Jan 13): The public is invited to attend the Christmas and New Year Open House to be held on Jan 18 at the Ranau Community Hall from 11am to 2pm.

The open house will be hosted by Deputy Chief Minister I and Sabah Minister of Works and Utilities, Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Joachim Gunsalam.

The event is organised by Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) N.36 Kundasang division in collaboration with the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) Ranau.

Organising chairman Yubidi Gompoyo said in a statement on Tuesday that the programme is held as an expression of gratitude in conjunction with the celebration of last year’s Christmas and the welcoming of the New Year 2026.

The PBS Kundasang deputy chief said the event also aims to strengthen unity and fellowship among the multi-racial and multi-religious communities in the Ranau district.

“The programme reflects PBS’ continued commitment to fostering a spirit of togetherness, tolerance and mutual respect, which form the foundation of harmony in Sabah,” he said.

Yubidi expressed hope that members of the public, regardless of background, would attend to enliven the event and usher in the new year in a spirit of unity and gratitude.
