RM500,000 RTP works rolled out for Jalan Semaba drainage, Kota Sentosa town square upgrade

KUCHING, April 13: A total of RM500,000 worth of Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) works has been rolled out in Kota Sentosa involving drainage upgrading at Jalan Semaba and improvements to the Kota Sentosa Town Square.

Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap today handed over Letters of Award (LOA) for both projects together with officers from Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).

The first project under RTP 2025 involves a RM200,000 drainage upgrading works at parts of Jalan Semaba (Phase 2), awarded to Bollzs Management Services.

The project aims to address persistent drainage inefficiencies and localised flooding issues raised by residents in the area.

Meanwhile, under RTP 2024, a RM300,000 Phase 2 upgrading project for Kota Sentosa Town Square, Batu 7, was awarded to MF Jaya Bina Sdn Bhd.

The project follows the completion of Phase 1, which was carried out at a cost of RM500,000, and is aimed at further enhancing public facilities, accessibility, and the overall usability of the community space.

Yap said both projects reflect his commitment to delivering development based on ground feedback and community needs.

“These projects are not decided from behind a desk. They come directly from the voices of the rakyat.

“My duty is to listen carefully, act decisively, and deliver effectively,” he said in a statement today.

He added that close coordination with implementing agency MPP is crucial to ensure smooth execution and timely completion of the projects.

“Handing over the LOA is not the end. It is the beginning of delivery.

“I will continue to monitor progress closely to ensure that the rakyat of Kota Sentosa benefit from quality and timely completion of these projects,” he added. — DayakDaily
