KUCHING, June 15: Sarawakian tennis player Nathanielle Ann Lee has added another milestone to her career after competing for Cowley College, Kansas, at the NJCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Championship, held from May 2–6 in Sumter, South Carolina, USA.
According to a press release, Lee, who represented one of the top junior college tennis programmes in the United States, advanced to the women’s doubles semifinals, finishing among the top four doubles teams in the nation.
“Her performance also contributed to Cowley College securing a top two national team finish, competing against elite collegiate players from across the United States,” said the press release.
It added that the championship provided valuable exposure against some of the strongest collegiate players in the country, further enhancing her competitive experience.
Born in Kuching, Lee was part of the Persatuan Tenis Bumiputra Sarawak (PTBS) Junior Development Programme and trained under Norhairi Khaider before pursuing her studies and tennis career in the United States.
Lee is currently back in Sarawak as she prepares to represent the State at the 2026 Sukma in Selangor.
She is expected to play a key role in the Sarawak’s campaign at the national games as one of the leading players in the State women’s tennis team. — DayakDaily
