KUCHING (Jan 8): Sarawak’s rising musical talent, 12-year-old Taylor Louise, will perform for the first time at New York’s iconic Carnegie Hall on July 11.

This follows a string of recent accolades, including the Exceptional Young Talent Award in Paris and a top prize at the New York International Music Competition last month.

“This is another important step in my journey. I’m deeply thankful to my parents for their love and support, to my coach and teachers for their guidance, and to everyone who inspires me to keep pursuing my passion,” she said in a statement.

“I also hope to receive financial assistance from the government and support from private sponsorships to help make this dream a reality.”

The statement added Taylor is known for her versatility, performing across classical, pop, jazz, and musical theatre, combining technical skill with expressive performance.

According to the Golden Classical Music Awards website, on July 11, a winners’ concert will be held at the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall.

Carnegie Hall, renowned for its rich history and superior acoustics, has hosted legendary musicians since opening in 1891.
