KUCHING, April 4: A woman was killed in a late-night road accident after the car she was driving lost control and crashed into a tree near the Army Camp at Mile 8 along Jalan Penrissen early this morning.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Kota Sentosa responded to the emergency at 2.40am and swiftly dispatched a team of firefighters to the scene.

Upon arrival, the Bomba team found a Perodua Kancil had been involved in a self-accident.

The female driver was trapped in the driver’s seat and unconscious. Medical personnel from the Ministry of Health later confirmed that she had died at the scene.

Firefighters proceeded to extricate the victim using specialised road accident rescue equipment before placing her on a stretcher and handing her over to health authorities and the police for further action.

After completing the recovery operation and clearing debris from the road, the team concluded operations at 4.28am and returned to the station. — DayakDaily
