DARO, 26 Sept: 1,062 participants successfully obtained Class B2 Driving Licence through the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) N.43 Daro's B2 Driving Licence Assistance Program implemented since late June.
Daro Member of the Adhan Nagar (ADUN), Dr Safiee Ahmad said that all participants had to go through the selection, training and testing process set by the Department of Road Transport (JPJ) before being eligible for licensure.
"The success of this program is the result of cooperation between JPJ Sarawak, especially JPJ Branch Mukah, Service Center Office N.43 Daro, Regional Office Daro, Driving Academy Setria Sdn. Bhd. as well as government and private agencies involved", at the Licensing Council of the Class B2 Driver's License Assistance Program (BLM) 2026 DUN N.43 Daro, here today.
He stressed that owning a license not only gives you the right to ride motorcycles, but also carries with it the responsibility to comply with the law and prioritize the safety of yourself and other road users.
"Never use this license to engage in illegal racing activities, street collisions or dangerous life-threatening actions", he said.
He also reminded the participants to use the facilities for useful purposes such as going to work, finding a living and helping families, including sending parents for treatment when needed.
Dr Safiee said the government's efforts to provide legal licensing facilities should be supported with a responsible, disciplined and prudent attitude when on the road to reduce the risk of accidents.
"Be a mature rider, always respect the rules and other road users because safety is a shared responsibility", he said. -TVS
