97,000 visitors celebrated my dear Sarawak in Betong

BETONG, September 27: The Sarawakku Sayang Program (SKS) Concrete Division recorded the attendance of about 97,000 visitors during its three days of organizing at the Concrete Sports Complex.

Deputy Minister of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development Sarawak, Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu said SKS Betong was among the best with 156 services from 47 government agencies and related entities participating.

According to him, the programme provides opportunities for people to get a range of services besides bringing government agencies closer to local communities.

"Thanks to all who won Sarawak's Love Part Betong and appreciation to everyone present.

"The programme has become a platform to introduce people to the various services provided by the government", he said.

He said this during his speech at the Sarawak Suspension Council, here today.

Gerald who is also a Member of the National Assembly (ADUN) Layar explained that civil servants and government agencies must always put themselves in the situation of the people to ensure that the services provided are truly meeting the needs of society.

"My counsel, put yourself in the people's shoes. If the people are having a hard time meeting you, you go down and beat the people.

"This service is two-way. If people feel that the services provided are unsatisfactory, complain so that improvement can be made", he said.

He said efforts to strengthen the SKS programme are essential to ensure more services can be delivered directly to people across Sarawak.
