A mini convention center will be built in Concrete

BETONG, Sept. 26: Betong will have a mini convention center to provide more complete facilities for hosting forums, conferences and science development programs in the part.

Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said he had approved the proposed construction of the facility after it was submitted by Deputy Prime Minister of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embassy.

According to him, at present among the facilities used for the supervision of large-scale programs in Betong is Mayor's Hall Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan.

"Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embassy has informed that there is no suitable place here, only the Hall of Datuk Amar Stephen Kalong Ningkan but less suitable to be used for holding a forum.

"So he asked for a Mini Convention Center and I graduated so that we could develop the facility as it is in Lawas", she said.

Brother Johari said that the provision of such facilities would not only support the promotion of various programs in Betong, but also serve as a platform for expanding knowledge sharing especially among younger generations.

"With facilities like this, we can boost the science of young people", he said.

The construction of the mini convention centre is expected to add public facilities in Betong and strengthen the capacity of the section as a venue for future large-scale forums, conferences and programs. - TVS
