KUCHING, 25 September: The 25th Music Industry Awards (AIM25) in Kuching is a landmark for Sarawak in organizing large-scale events, especially involving the arts and creative industries.
Sarawak Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Minister Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the experience and level of professionalism displayed in AIM25 can be used as a learning tool for future large-scale events.
"I believe those who are organizing this event are experts in the field. I came to the Borneo Kuching Convention Centre (BCCK) to see a little bit of how prepared they are and to see the level of professionalism in hosting such large events that will be broadcast live.
"Everything is so organized and I believe those who come from Sarawak, TVS in particular, will be able to learn how to organize big events like this", he told TVS after reviewing the final preparations for the Music Industry Awards here today.
According to him, the AIM25 exhibition which was first held in Sarawak also added value to the tourism sector and creative industry of the state through the presence of artists as well as visitors from outside Sarawak.
"We are very proud that it can be held in Kuching City with the presence of many famous artists who will be camped in Kuching within two to three days.
"I am a minister with little responsibility for culture, arts and tourism. We must be proud of the presence of visitors from abroad, especially from Peninsular Malaysia", he added.
Additionally, BCCK's limited capacity caused AIM25 not to sell tickets to the public, but the event can be seen live on TVS tomorrow night.
Meanwhile, Abdul Karim was also satisfied with the preparations of AIM25 after reviewing the situation at BCCK ahead of tomorrow's summit. - TVS
