KUCHING, Sept. 28: Project Nurturing Ability, Diversity and Inclusion (NADI) GEM is seen to be able to open up more opportunities for neurodiverged children and children from underprivileged backgrounds to develop their potential through a music-based approach.

Sarawak Minister of Women, Child Development and Community Welfare, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah said the joint initiative between Prodigy Music Centre and Petros Foundation Berhad reflects a shared effort in providing more inclusive music learning space for those affected.

He believes that music has the ability to encourage communication, build self-confidence and provide space for children to express themselves in supportive environments.

"I would like to pay tribute to the Petros Foundation Berhad and Prodigy Music Centre for joining in achieving this meaningful collaboration.

"The NADI GEM project, reflects a shared commitment to providing opportunities for neurodiverged children and underprivileged children through music-based development opportunities", he said.

He said this in his speech at the Prodigy 16th Anniversary Recital and Award Ceremony-SYMPHONY No. The 16th took place at a prestigious hotel here last night.

Furthermore, initiatives such as Project NADI JAM are important because every child has the right to have the opportunity to learn, participate, identify their own strengths and reach their potential regardless of background or ability.

He said music also provides a platform for children to build meaningful relationships, communicate and develop self-confidence, as well as cultivate a sense of appreciation and have a place in the community.

Meanwhile, Fatimah stressed that the development of an inclusive society requires the cooperation of various parties including government, private sector, community, educators and families.

Obviously, the collaboration between Petros Foundation and Prodigy Music Centre through Project NADI GEM shows how strategic partnerships can translate into more meaningful development opportunities for children and families in Sarawak-TVS.
