LIMBANG, Sept. 26: Connectivity and infrastructure aspects in rural areas, especially Limbang, continue to be prioritised to bridge the gap between rural areas and growth centers.
Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, said road connectivity is important to facilitate the movement of people, goods and services, in addition to connecting villages with urban areas.
He said improvements in road infrastructure are beneficial for the people of rural and coastal areas, including opening up better access to various economic opportunities.
"As a Balanced Member of Parliament and in the trust vested in the portfolio of the Malaysian Ministry of Transport, my priority is always clear, which is to ensure that connectivity and infrastructure aspects in rural areas, especially in Balance, are constantly improved.
"Physical developments such as roads, transport networks and basic facilities must go hand in hand with the development of minds and the economy of human capital", he said.
He said this when he inaugurated the 2026 Balanced Parliamentary Ranking of Rural Mass Movement Program (GEMA@KKDW) at Kampung Bunga Raya Hall, here today.
Hasbi said that the Federal Government and Sarawak Government have always been committed to bridging development gaps between urban and rural areas.
He said that overall infrastructure development is also important to open up more opportunities in agriculture, tourism and trade sectors, thus supporting the economic growth of rural communities in Limbaran.
"All these plans will not have the maximum impact without strong support and active participation from the entire community", he said.
