SIBU, 26 September: FA Sibu took advantage of playing on home soil by defeating Miri FA 2-1 in the Sarawak Premier League 2026 Zone North action at Tun Ahmad Zaidi Stadium, here, this evening.

The victory saw Sibu FA score three points in a fierce action in front of about 200 supporters of both teams.

The FA fox opened the net with striker, Limed's son Christopher Bantin in the 33rd minute to give a 1-0 lead to the hosts.

Christopher once again scored a hat-trick at the end of extra time in the first half after Sibu FA were awarded a penalty match followed by Miri FA player Sylvestine Barandah Hohen, intentionally blocking the ball with her hand inside the penalty box.

It forced Miri FA to act with 10 players in the second half after Sylvestine was red-carded for the move.

However, Miri FA bounced back as the second half began when Harith Danielle Abdullah scored in the 46th minute and took the lead to 2-1.

The FA Sibu however managed to retain the lead until the winning whistle to confirm a 2-1 win on home soil.

FA Head Coach Andrew Lawadin described the match as intense and admitted at first expecting both teams to share points.

"I think Miri's team is looking for a win, but this victory goes to Sibu.

"I watched the game get better and better until the last minute. We could get another real goal but unfortunately missed and hit the goal post", he said.

According to Endrew, there are still some aspects that FA Swan needs to improve particularly in terms of fitness and strength.

"After this match, I'm going to make sure we get fitter. Our strength needs to get stronger because I've seen in the last few minutes a lot of things that aren't cramps but are going to have an impact on ourselves. Sibu's performance was not so good but it was enough for the game this evening", he said.

Commenting on the next action against Bintulu FA, Endrew said his team would give everything to hunt down victory and secure first place in the group.

Meanwhile, Miri FA Assistant Coach Hairul Aizam Zakaria said that some individual mistakes as well as a loss of focus at certain times are among the aspects that Miri FA needs to improve ahead of next action.

"The game at the start was balanced but maybe our players had some individual mistakes or lost focus at a certain point. We're going to fix it. We'll go back to camp and fix it for the next game", he said.

Miri FA is scheduled to play against Mukah in the final match of Sarawak Premier League.

Hairulaizam said his team realized the action on the opposing court was not easy, but will try to get a positive result to hunt for chances to the quarter-finals.
