KAPIT (April 3): Hundreds of parishioners attended the Holy Thursday mass at the Holy Mary Immaculate Conception Church here.

Holy Thursday is a significant observance that takes place during the ‘Holy Week’, to be followed by Good Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Together, these days remember the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Holy Thursday signifies key events the final days of Jesus Christ’s life; the ‘Last Supper’ with his disciples, as well as the ‘Washing of Feet’ and the ‘Commandment of Love’.

Church rector Father Olivier Lomboto presided the Thursday evening mass, running 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

The highlights were him washing the feet of 12 parishioners, the Holy Communion and the ‘Stripping of the Altar’.

“These served as a reminder to the faithful the importance of love, compassion and selfless service to others,” said the Catholic Church in a statement.
