Luxury cars seized, LKM expired

KUCHING, 28 September: Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) seized a luxury vehicle after being found used on the road with an expired Motor Vehicle License (LKM).

The action was carried out by JPJ Kuching Operations Unit through Ops Luxury in patrol and surveillance around Kuching city yesterday.

The vehicle was detained at Kuching City Mall Road for further inspection.

According to a statement by JPJ Sarawak, the results of the inspection found that the LKM of the vehicle had expired, causing seizure action to be taken in accordance with the provisions of the law in force.

"JPJ Sarawak reminds vehicle owners and users to ensure that LKM and insurance coverage are always valid before using vehicles on the road.

"Failure to comply with the matter could lead to enforcement action being taken", the statement said.

JPJ Sarawak said patrols, monitoring and enforcement operations will continue continuously to ensure compliance with the law as well as safety of all road users.
