Malaysia Laundry Day 2026 continues in the Garden of Harmony

KUCHING, 26 Sept: Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) participated in the Malaysia Cleanup Day 2026 - Mega Cleaning Program on World Cleanup Day organized by Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), today.

The program, which took place in Flat of Sri Harmoni Park, Matang was implemented in cooperation with the Committee for Neighbourhood Rural Development and Security (JKRT) of Sri Harmoni Park.

According to the MPP statement, among the activities carried out are environmental cleaning workshops, Buy Back Campaigns or Buy Back Campaigns involving recycled goods as well as electrical and electronic goods.

"The sale of cooking oils used by the local population was held in order to promote more responsible waste management.

"The programme not only focuses on environmental hygiene aspects, but also encourages communities to practice recycling and maintain continuous residential cleanliness", the statement said.

According to the MPP, community involvement is essential in creating a clean, comfortable and sustainable environment, as well as fostering awareness that hygiene is a shared responsibility.

MPP also appreciated JKRT Taman Sri Harmoni and the local people for their cooperation and participation in the success of the programme. -TVS
