Man dead, three injured Toyota Vios released

SERIAN, 28 September: A man was killed and three others injured in a suicide accident involving a Toyota Vios in the village of Sabal Tapang, Sri Aman-Kuching Road last night.

In the incident at about 9:50 p.m. that night, the dead victim was identified as Derick Kiew Chee Fan, 24, while three other victims consisted of a 23-year-old woman, a 3-year-old girl and an adult male.

According to the Operations Movement Centre (PGO) of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Sarawak, the vehicles in question are believed to have escaped to the side of the road.

"All the victims were unharmed and had been removed from their vehicles by civilians before the bomb squad arrived at the scene at 10:47 p.m.

"EMRS Bomba team then took the victims women and girls to a nearby hospital for further treatment, while adult male victims were also taken to hospital by KKM", the statement said.

However, another adult male victim was confirmed dead at the scene by KKM medical officers.

The victim's body was then turned over to the police for further action.

The operation was confirmed to be under control at 11:25 p.m. and fully terminated by 12:10 midnight after no further action is needed.
