ADVERTISE HERE
MIRI, 27 September: MiriStyle Diesel 4×4 Club moves 12 four-wheel drive vehicles to deliver humanitarian aid to the victims of the Penan long house fire in Long Jekitan Village, Ulu Baram on Saturday.
A convoy of 30 members led by Nicholas Jarau Lake carried supplies, kitchen equipment and clothing to relieve the burden on 10 families affected after their homes were destroyed in a fire.
The relief mission to the countryside demanded driving efficiency as convoys were forced to make a difficult six-hour journey from Miri city.
Traveling through the unpaved, muddy, and hilly roads became the only land route to the area.
This initiative of concern to the motoring community not only demonstrates a high spirit of volunteerism, but is also an important lifeline for rural Sarawak residents who are disadvantaged by rapid access to basic geographical factors.
The donations are expected to give hope and meet the urgent needs of victims who are now losing their homes and property.
