KUCHING, 26 September: The Sarawak University of Technology (UiTM) Alumni Association (MITSA) continues to empower student human capital development through motivation and mentoring programs implemented in several locations in Sarawak since 2005.
Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said the efforts reflected alumni's commitment to re-contributing knowledge, experience and expertise to the community, in addition to maintaining peer relationships.
"As an UiTM alumnus, I am very proud of MITSA's active efforts to implement human capital development and community service programs across Sarawak", he said.
Nancy said this in her speech before inaugurating the Motivation and Guidance Program for High School Student Opportunities organized by the University of Sarawak Alumni Association (MITSA) which took place at Bako National Secondary School (SMK), on Saturday.
According to him, the programme gives students an exposure on the importance of planning educational direction and determining which fields of study to pursue after graduation.
He said similar motivation and guidance programmes have been implemented in several locations including Mukah, Lawas, Simunjan, Saratok and Miri.
He said the involvement of alumni who have experience and expertise in various fields can help students build vision and plan for life after graduation.
Nancy also hopes that MITSA's continued efforts in human capital development can help to produce a generation of Sarawak who are knowledgeable, skilled, confident and ready for the challenges of the future.
