MPV-4WD crash in Beluran leaves man dead, his wife severely hurt

BELURAN (Jan 6): A man was killed, and his wife sustained serious injuries, in an accident that struck Jalan Telisai, Sapi Nangoh here on Tuesday.

It was reported that the couple was heading to Telupid from here when their multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) collided with a four-wheel drive vehicle (4WD), transporting four people onboard.

Beluran Fire and Rescue (Bomba) chief Edoen Macheal said the station received an emergency call at 12.57pm, after which seven firefighters were rushed to the location, about 45km away.

“The MPV driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical officers, while the female passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to Beluran Hospital for further treatment.”

The four occupants of the 4WD – a couple and their two children – were reported to have sustained minor injuries.
