BANGI, Oct 14: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim condemned the failure of international order in dealing with the suffering of Palestinian people.

He said that the international community should remain firm in upholding the principles of democracy and human rights, but their response to Palestinian suffering reveals a contradiction in their commitment to resist colonialism and imperialism.

"What hypocrisy, the failure of the international community. I need to speak as Prime Minister, I understand that. But I have to express a very broad sense of the failure of international order.

"We're talking about democracy, whose democracy? We're talking about human rights, which human being? When human beings are treated like animals and slaves", he said at the Sumud Nusantara Dinner, held in conjunction with the 2026 World Sumud Congress here tonight.

Anwar, who is also Nusantara's patron saint, also questioned whether the different services rendered to the Palestinian issue were motivated by the fact that the Palestinians are Arab or Muslim.

"For me, it doesn't matter. What matters is that they are also human and we cannot allow this continuing oppression and atrocity to continue on innocent lives", he said.

The Prime Minister said Malaysia, which has experienced the experience of slavery, understands the importance of resisting any form of injustice, and will continue to support efforts to help the Palestinian people despite the risks and challenges they face.

He also reiterated the full commitment of the MADANI government to the Palestinian struggle and urged all parties to continue contributing time, energy and resources to help them (the Palestinian people).

"I know the risks, the problems, but what is this problem compared to the problems faced by [Palestinian] children screaming expecting the world to hear, but the world is deaf.

"It's a shame that we say we can't do anything, because we are busy with our own world... So take the necessary steps, any small effort to help people who have been tortured for 70 years", he said.

Anwar also paid tribute to international participants involved in the Global Sumud Movement, calling them essential for ensuring that the call for justice for Palestine continues internationally.

"It's very meaningful because you are part of this international movement. But more importantly, you're part of the voice of conscience, the voice of sanity, that calls for justice.

"You don't show that you give up. You show your zeal... you will have a voice of sanity, a voice of conscience, a voice that demands freedom and justice. May God guide us", said Anwar.
