KUCHING, 25 Sept: Efforts to help alleviate the cost of living burden of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and local communities continued through the Sarawak Container PDRM Levels MADANI Mercy Sale Program (PJRM) for two days.
The programme, which takes place in the Open Hall of Sarawak's Kontinental Police Headquarters (IPK), offers a range of daily necessities at more affordable prices.
According to a statement by Sarawak Police, the initiative also aims at helping people, especially B40s and the impoverished, get their necessities at lower prices and affordability.
"In addition to benefiting PDRM citizens and families, the programme is also a platform for strengthening ties between team members, government agencies and local communities.
"Various items such as food, beverages, kitchenware and other daily necessities were warmly received by visitors", the statement said.
The programme is implemented by the government through the Ministry of Internal Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) offering basic necessities at the price of Rahmah.
Besides helping to reduce daily expenses, the initiative also encourages communities to practice a culture of careful saving and efficient financial management.
The MADANI Mercy Sale programme will be continued tomorrow at PDRM Tabuan Jaya Housing Complex, Kuching, to provide more opportunities for PDRM residents and locals to enjoy the benefits. -TVS
