KUCHING, 22 Sept: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg hopes that the issues discussed in the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) can be implemented through Budget 2027 to be announced by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on 9 October.
He said Sarawak hopes that the matter can be realised especially from the point of view of injection which has been discussed.
"Our hope is that what has been discussed in MA63 will be implemented from an injection point of view", he told reporters after the Sarawak SOEs Transformation Programme - Phase 2: A Pledge for Good Governance, High Performance & Value Creation here today.
Asked if there was any expectation of an increase in allocation for Sarawak, Johari said that depends on the Prime Minister's announcement.
At the same time, when asked about the possibility of some State-owned Enterprises (SOEs) stopping funding injections, Brother Johari said that the matter would have to wait for the submission of Sarawak Budget 2027.
"Wait for the next budget, it will be explained later based on the directions and policies that have been described before", he said. - TVS
