Sebastian Ting supports the efforts of five churches SIB Miri to raise funds

MIRI, Sept 26: Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts Sarawak, Dato Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew donated RM20,000 to five Borneo Gospel Council (SIB) churches on the occasion of Miri SIB's Day of Food Sales and Fund quotes for Mission and Evangelization.

He said that the donation amounted to RM4,000 each to each church to help fundraising efforts of RM100,000.

"I will record a donation of RM20,000. For five churches, I gave RM4,000 each, so the total is RM20,000 as part of this fundraiser", he said speaking at a ceremony here today.

According to him, the program's encouragement of some 2,050 congregations from the five SIB churches reflects the spirit of unity and unity among the Christian community in Miri.

He explained that the church's role is also important in maintaining the harmony of Sarawak's diverse religious and racial community.

"In Sarawak, we value peace and harmony very much. We respect each other and this is what we need to continue for generations to come", he said.

He added that the Government of Sarawak continues to emphasize on education, infrastructure, economy and welfare development through the aspirations of Sarawak towards Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030. - TVS
