KUCHING, Sept. 22: Owners of Perodua vehicles now have a new option to enjoy additional automotive related benefits through the launch of Perodua-Bank Rakyat Credit Card-i.

The strategic cooperation between Second Automobile Company Sdn Bhd (Perodua) and Bank Rakyat focuses on the daily needs of vehicle owners, including fuel spending, electric vehicle (EV) charging, maintenance as well as takaful protection.

Through the card, cardholders are offered five times the reward points for automotive transactions that can be exchanged and redeemed through Perodua's P-Circle mobile app.

In addition, consumers also enjoy facilities such as no annual fee, no overseas transaction charge, and free takaful protection for outstanding balances up to RM300,000 until age 70.

Perodua's President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Sri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the launch reflects the company's efforts to expand value added to customers.

"The launch of this Credit Card-i is an important achievement for Perodua as it was our first collaboration with banking institutions to introduce such a product.

"We want to ensure that customers not only own Perodua vehicles, but also enjoy a more comprehensive ownership experience through various related benefits and facilities", he said.

Meanwhile, Chief Executive Officer of People's Bank Group Ahmad Shahril Mohd Shariff said the partnership combines the strength of Islamic banking and the automotive industry to offer more relevant financial solutions.

Perodua-Bank Rakyat Credit Card-i comes with two exclusive designs inspired by Perodua QV-E and TIRA, characters from animated films featured in the Perodua P-Circle app.
