Wan Junaidi and Fauziah would like to wish all Christians in Sarawak a blessed Good Friday and a Happy Easter.

KUCHING (April 3): Sarawakians are urged to continue nurturing the spirit of unity and mutual respect to preserve social harmony.

Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the people of Sarawak have remained united by shared values of compassion, kindness and respect despite differences in faith.

“Such principles have continued to sustain peace and cohesion within the community,” he said in his Good Friday and Easter message.

Wan Junaidi described the occasion as a meaningful time of reflection and renewal, underscoring the enduring values of understanding and harmony that define Sarawak’s multicultural society.

He observed that the state’s unique social fabric continues to be strengthened by the close bonds shared among its people.

“Individuals of different faiths and backgrounds come together in mutual respect, visiting one another and celebrating important occasions in a spirit of goodwill.

“Simple gestures such as sharing meals, exchanging greetings and extending care to one another reflect the true essence of unity that we cherish,” he said.

Wan Junaidi expressed hope that the occasion would bring joy, peace and comfort to those celebrating, while serving as a reminder of the importance of family, togetherness and shared humanity.

He called on all communities to continue nurturing unity and mutual respect to ensure the harmony enjoyed in Sarawak remains strong and enduring for future generations.
