Brother Johari Zahir is sorry for the departure of Dr Tun. Siti Hasmah

BINTULU, Sept. 28: Sarawak Prime Minister, His Highness Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg extends condolences to former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and the whole family following the departure of Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali. He is the only one who can do this.

Addressing the inaugural Sarawak Agrofest 2026 at Bintulu Old Airport today, Brother Johari first invited the audience to pray that Allahyarhamah be placed with the faithful and prayed for his family to be given strength and patience in the face of the loss.

"I would like to convey my condolences to the very happy Dr. Tun Mahathir bin Mohamad is on a very happy journey It's the city of Hasmah.

"We pray to Allah with the believers and our entire family, hoping they will endure their trials", he said.

The Dr. Tun Siti Hasmah, wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, passed away at the Institute of National Heart (IJN), Kuala Lumpur at 9.20 am today at the age of 100.

The departure of Allahyarhamah was confirmed by his son, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir to BERNAMA.

Born on 12 July 1926, Allahyarhamah was one of the first Malay women doctors in the country and had served in public health, as well as being active in activities related to health and community welfare.

Allahyarhamah is married to Tun Dr. Mahathir on August 5, 1956 and was awarded seven eyelashes.
