SIBU (April 4): Igan MP Ahmad Johnie Zawawi has sprang into action to provide relief to 1,114 residents in Nanga Semah and Kampung Sabena, delivering bottled mineral water after their clean water supply was disrupted by the ongoing dry spell.
The assistance also benefited Klinik Nanga Semah, SK Nanga Semah and SK Sabena, easing the strain on daily needs in these riverine communities.
“Communities along the river rely heavily on clean water sources, and the dry conditions have placed significant pressure on their daily routines,” he said in a Facebook post.
“This is not the first time such assistance has been provided, as similar contributions were made previously, especially during dry spells,” he added.
Residents welcomed the MP’s prompt action, describing his concern and responsiveness as a reassurance during challenging times, particularly for those living in riverbank settlements.
