SIBU (April 6): The Sibu District Police Headquarters (IPD) conducted Op Cegah Jenayah from 10pm on Saturday to 3am on Sunday.
Sibu IPD said in a Facebook post that 212 individuals were screened during the operation.
“The operation was led by ASP Bill Azman Unjar and involved multiple units, including criminal investigation, commercial crime, community safety, and traffic enforcement teams.
“As a result of the checks, six local men were arrested after testing positive for drugs such as methamphetamine, ketamine, and amphetamine under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” said the post.
The large-scale operation involved 58 officers and personnel and targeted several hotspot areas, including entertainment outlets and business premises.
Sibu IPD added that it is committed to continuing such operations to combat crime and ensure public safety.
