THE Sarawak government is projecting total revenue of RM15.09 billion for 2027, with State Sales Tax (SST) expected to remain its largest single source of income.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said non-tax revenue is expected to contribute the largest share at RM6.74 billion (44.6 per cent), followed by tax revenue at RM6.45 billion (42.8 per cent).

“Federal grants and reimbursements are projected at RM1.87 billion (12.4 per cent), while non-revenue receipts are expected to account for RM34 million (0.2 per cent),” he said when tabling the Supply (2027) Bill, 2026 on Monday (Oct 12).

In terms of major revenue sources, Abang Johari said SST is projected to contribute RM4.63 billion, representing approximately 31 per cent of the state’s total revenue.

“This is followed by oil and gas revenue at RM2.69 billion (18 per cent) and dividend income at RM2.60 billion (17 per cent),” he said.

Abang Johari said raw water royalty is expected to contribute RM1,310 million (9 per cent), while interest income is projected at RM746 million (5 per cent).
