KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Oct: Flight ticket assistance under the FLYsiswa MADANI initiative increased to RM500 in 2027 from RM400 earlier.
Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the RM100 increase was to help ease student air travel costs.
"Flight ticket support for FLYStudents MADANI 2027 has been increased to RM500, against RM400, which will benefit over 60,000 applicants of the Institution of Public Higher Education (IPTA)," he said while presenting Budget 2027 in the Dewan Rakyat today.
Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, said the increase was equal to 25 percent compared to previous aid rates.
For the record, FLYStudent initiative previously offered flight ticket subsidy aid worth RM400 to eligible students for travel between Peninsular Malaysia with Sabah and Sarawak. - TVS
