KUALA LUMPUR, 9 Oct: Government allocates RM3.3 billion to continue implementation of road projects in Sabah and Sarawak through Budget 2027.

The Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said that the allocation also strengthens the development of Trans Borneo Highway, Sarawak-Sabah Link Road 1 and Pan Borneo Sabah Highway.

"The Letter of Acceptance (SST) for Trans Borneo Lebuhraya for the Miri section has been issued, while the Balanced and Long-term section is expected to follow later this year", he said when presenting Budget 2027 in the Lok Sabha today.

In an effort to strengthen the maintenance of road infrastructure, he said the government also allocated RM350 million for Federal road maintenance work dedicated to G1 to G4 contractors in Sabah and Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Anwar said the government agreed to implement the installation of Statcom System at Main Entrance Dam Road and Segaliud in Sabah at a cost of RM204 million.

The move, he said, was part of an effort to improve the stability of the state's electricity supply system.

"In addition, the Southern Link Transmission Line project will be continued as a long-term step to ensure continuity of electricity supply in Sabah.

"The implementation of the road and energy projects reflects the government's focus on infrastructure development and efforts to improve basic facilities in Sabah and Sarawak", he said. - TVS
